Looks like the ‘Bodyguard’ of Bollywood, Salman Khan, will eventually inspire a whole breed of new security establishments. At least among his coterie of loyal servants. First, it was his Man Friday - Shera (calls himself Salman’s friend, not bodyguard) who started his own security company called Tiger. Now, another of Salman’s confidants, his makeup man, Sudesh Naag has established a very stable security business called Shootcare. Sudesh, known in the industry as Raju, has been working with Salman since Maine Pyar Kiya (1989).

Currently, Shootcare, which operates from Borivali provides security for events, stars and film shoots. Its 100-plus personnel guard the sets of upcoming like movies like Dabangg 2, Ishkq In Paris, Heroine, ABCD, Bol Bachchan, Sher Khan, Krrish 3 and Oh My God. They also provide security to Salman’s home in Bandra and guards the star wherever he goes, including outdoor shoots. Shootcare guards Rohit Shetty and Shree Ashtavinayak Films too. Says Raju, “A long time ago, when I was 23 or 24, Salmanbhai told me that if he makes it big in life, he will hire me. He kept his word. Even before starting Shootcare, I told Salmanbhai about it.

He told me to go ahead if I was confident it will do well.” In fact, Salman is so used to Raju’s services that sometimes in his absence; he hires Raju’s brother to do his makeup. Adds Raju, “Salmanbhai is someone who will like one person out of millions. Whatever I am today is because of his blessing. People started trusting me only because I was working with Salmanbhai for so many years. I will run the business as long I am with him and till the goodwill continues.” Shera, who is also Salman’s trusted bodyguard accompanies him outside India and for events. His company, Tiger, provides security all over the country.
