When Indian actors like Mallika Sherawat are strutting on the red carpet at Hollywood premieres and musicians like AR Rahman are collaborating with international biggies like Kylie Minogue, how could Indian choreographers be far behind?

Mumbai based choreographer Longinus Fernandes, of the Slumdog Millionaire fame, is all set to make Pretty Woman star Julia Roberts groove to his moves in an upcoming movie. He tells HT City, “I have a three movie deal with the producers of Slumdog..., which includes a TV musical series called Bollywood Hero, and an untitled project starring Julia Roberts.”

He further reveals, “We might shoot around mid-September in India, but, as of now, I can’t say much.” Revelling in the attention he’s been getting after Slumdog’s success, he says, “The producers say my choreography has been noticed world over, which is so encouraging.”

Incidentally, it was his stint on the TV show, Jhalak Dikhla Ja, which catapulted him to fame. But he’s not too pleased. “Even though I am 25-films-old, it took a reality show to get me recognition. That hurts me the most,” says Fernandes.
