Yanni dedicated a song to her at the Yanni Voices concert in Los Angeles recently and Mallika has already made the incident the talk of town.
“It was awesome! In front of 7,000 screaming fans at the Nokia theatre, Yanni said his song Changes was for Mallika!” she writes in a Twitter entry. "So wish my bro Vikram was there when it happened."
At the Los Angeles concert, Yanni kicked it off remembering his first trip to India and his performance at the Taj Mahal.
He spoke about how "it’s big enough to be in India and at the Taj Mahal". "We have few good friends of ours from India… welcome to America… This one (Changes) is for you Mallika," said Yanni, revealing that the song was specifically written to be performed at the Taj Mahal.
Of course, Mallika was over the moon when Yanni announced the dedication. In the video, the Bollywood stunner is shown to be clapping with joy among thousands of people while saying: "Thank you, Yanni". And it is certainly not surprising to see that Mallika is publicising her Yanni stint in a big way. Be it uploading “videos” or providing web links, the Haryana beauty sure knows how to market herself.
“The video evidence of Yanni dedicating a song for the first time in his whole career... to me!”she writes, adding: “After the concert, he played a solo gig just for me.” The second entry comes with a picture.
Changes’ lyrics — How could I ever know, I would find myself alone, Facing your demons as well as mine, Wishing for the past that words cannot find — don’t make any special mention of the B- town actress.
Interestingly, buzz is strong about Yanni dedicating a composition to anyone for the first time in his career. Mallika met Yanni for the first time recently at The Ivy, a Los Angeles eatery. Apparently, producer Ric Wake was also present.
The actress had written about how Yanni really wanted her to attend his concert. "OMG. Dinner with 'Hisss' producers, met Ric Wake... "Yanni! Ric is hilarious" I made Yanni beg me 2go2 his concert Tues!” she wrote.
“I told Yanni I can only go2 his concert if he dedicates a song 2me, hee. Saucy,” the actress had written adding: “ Lol! Ric Wake and Yanni get caught in the Mallika paparazzi frenzy. Signed autographs for them.”
Coming back to Yanni, he is still hailed as the only artist to ever stage a concert performance at the Taj Mahal. Wake, on his part, has recorded big names like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez.
Meanwhile, the beauty is all set to appear on Salman Khan’s show Dus Ka Dum with boxer Vijender Singh. Industry experts view it as an attempt to make news around the time of her next film, Hisss’ release.
