Twenty-seven-year old Siddharth Nishar Padamshi is a travel consultant at a city tour agency. About a month ago, he participated in a random contest on Facebook, not expecting anything in return.
And when a few weeks later, the Andheri-resident was escorted to Hugh Hefner’s iconic Beverly Hills mansion in a Lincoln limousine surrounded by Playboy mates, it all seemed unreal to the contest winner.
“Playboy magazines have been part of every teenager’s growing up, and for me, I had only heard about these wild parties. This was my dream from class 8,” says Siddharth, who is currently attending a wedding in Gujarat, where he has so far “been introduced 400 times as ‘the friend’ who was at Hefner’s mansion.
The party was everything you hear about and see on TV. Though I’m not a Hollywood fan, there were a few attendees who were being crowded around by fans for pictures,” he says, recalling that when he received the call declaring him winner, he was convinced it was a prank. “I just asked them to call me back later.”
As part of the Vh1 Ticket To Ride To The Playboy Mansion contest, Siddharth’s name was on the VIP guest list. Once inside, he was in awe of his surroundings for quite some time. “Whether it was the Playmates dressed in bunny costumes and covered in body paint, it was all surreal,” recalls Siddharth, who didn’t spot any Indians at the party, except a billionaire from Google. “He invited me over to his VVIP table, and that section is just crazy. I was there till 3 am.”
Siddharth has now returned to the grind with a night he’ll remember forever. But the one thing he wants now, more than going back, is “to see such a party in Mumbai some day. It really should happen.”
