Memphis sound producer Jim Dickinson passes away

Music Producer Jim Dickinson, well known for working with the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, has passed away.

Music Producer Jim Dickinson, well known for working with the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, has passed away.

He died after a three-month fight with heart problems and intestinal bleeding.

The musician had undergone a heart bypass surgery, and was recovering in the Memphis-based Methodist University Hospital, reports Contactmusic.

In his career, which spanned almost four decades, he helped shape the Memphis sound.

Jim major acts were with likes of Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Big Star, and the Rolling Stones.

And his sons Luther and Cody formed Grammy-nominated group called the North Mississippi Allstars.
