Monday. A frantic caller informs me that I’ve been finalised for an ad! Woo hoo! I recollect how I hadn’t worn any make up for this audition. Hmm... maybe I shouldn’t wear makeup from now onwards!
I casually ask the caller whether she works with the production house. To which she proudly replies, “No, no. I assist Anurag.” “Anurag who?” “Kashyap,” she says, rather matter-of-factly. Wait a second, Anurag Kashyap is directing this ad? Aaa! So I’ll be shooting with one of the best filmmakers of our time. Life is swell, except for the huge swelling on my forehead, usually referred to as a pimple! Argh! This had better go by Thursday!
I hosted a press conference for an upcoming fashion show. It was a piece of cake, and I also got to meet celebrities. One of them wore her shades all the while and during the photo ops. I couldn’t help but notice all the designer bags that had infested the room. To a guy, I guess what car he drives is the biggest deal. But with women a bag is more than just arm candy. It is a statement. Not just a style statement but also her financial statement. Is it a Gucci? LV? or Hermes? (a Hermes bag costs upwards of Rs 10 lakh, for your kind information!).
My pimple had dried up, among other national headlines. Thanks to tanking up on the water and some zit-zapping cream.
Anurag Kashyap was a really chilled out guy to work with. He likes keeping it real and hates makeup on his actors. See, I told you my no-makeup look did the trick! He had a cool, calm and keen sense of direction sprinkled with a naughty sense of humour. He kept pulling my leg on the set, teasing me with the DOP (Director of Photography). We all took pictures after wrapping up, which he asked me to upload. Asked whether he was a Facebook person, he said, “Totally!”
