Monica Dogra

Monica Dogra is shy no more. The

Dhobi

Ghat

actor and Shaa’ir half of popular music band

Shaa’ir + Func

has shed inhibitions and clothes for a topless shoot for the fashion magazine,

MW India

. And, the 29-year-old loved the experience.

“For me, art is about creating something beautiful. In this case, I was given complete creative control by the magazine. Topless or not is irrelevant ... I think we made something beautiful,” she says. Did it take a lot to get herself to dare to bare? Not at all, she says. “The shoot was done with a friend of mine. So I was comfortable. It was done with a level of class and respect, so I feel very good about it. Mission accomplished!”

Dogra is still under the

Dhobi Ghat

hangover. She says she loved working with Aamir Khan. “My favourite memory of working with Aamir is about this one night after we had been shooting for 14 hours straight, and the sun was rising ... we all sat on the terrace of this old bungalow, and shared stories, poems and songs — I sang for Aamir the first time that evening, and he was so incredibly warm and kind, and said he was blown away and that I must sing for AR Rahman. Supposedly, he texted Rahman telling him about me,” she says in an interview to the glossy.
