Former model Cleo Isaacs, who’s been off the grid for long is back in the city and its buzzing social circuit. The stunning beauty has released a Hindi single titled, ‘

Mere yaar…

’, with British electronic music band, The Guru Josh Project. Says Cleo, “The Guru Josh Project are huge in the west. People there know them for their song ‘

Infiniti...

”. About her latest collaboration, she reveals that even though the song had been recorded keeping in mind the Indian market, it will be released worldwide.

Cleo has provided vocals for the track. “I am not a trained singer, but I was introduced to Guru Josh Project member Darren Bailie, when I was in London. He had recently come to India to scout for a desi singer. When he heard me sing, he said my voice was very

ambient and hence suitable for his production. Though Darren doesn’t speak or understand Hindi, he still liked my singing and selected it for the project.”

The model had earlier tried her hand in Bollywood, when she appeared in the 2004 dud,

Woh

. She later backed out of her second movie,

Apharan

(2005).

“I had to withdraw due to objections from my husband,” she says. Cleo says it’s her love for Bollywood that got her singing, “I always wanted to be a singer. I have been learning to sing for two years. I have a song up on YouTube, ‘

Tu hai wahi...’

The song did well in the UK where it debuted on BBC Radio 1, in 2009,” she says.

Ask her what she’s been upto for the last five years and Cleo replies, “I was modelling in London. I am a British Indian. I also have many projects lined up currently, but wouldn’t want to talk about it,” she says.
