The crypt above Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe's tomb has become the most talked about piece of real estate in town.

Elsie Poncher, whose husband is interred in the crypt above the sex symbol's final resting place, has decided to move her husband's remains to another spot and put the space up for auction, reported Los Angeles Times.

Monroe and her then husband Joe DiMaggio had bought the crypts together during their brief marriage, but the baseball player had sold it to Richard Poncher, after divorcing the star in 1954.

And now his wife is putting the crypt up for auction on eBay, hoping to raise up to half a million dollars.

Elsie plans to start the eBay bidding for his crypt at $500,000 and use the money to pay off the $1.6 million mortgage on her Beverly Hills home.

"I can't be more honest than that. I want to leave it free and clear for my kids," she said.
