With Diwali around the corner, singers Anuradha Paudwal and Durga Jasraj have an offering for devotional music lovers. The two have recently launched their respective devotional albums that will hit music stores this week. While Paudwal’s compilation is her homage to the Goddess of wealth,
Jasraj’s is a bhajan-karaoke record. It comprises bhajans, chants and aartis.
“This is my first album on Goddess Lakshmi and it has eight tracks on it. The music has been composed by Shailesh Dani and Suresh Wadkar, and I have sung all the songs. We recorded the album in two days. It comprises a special Lakshmi Suprabhatam and Lakshmi Sri Suktam,” says Paudwal.
If you like singing bhajans but have a hard time remembering the difficult Sanskrit words, Jasraj’s album could be a good thing to acquire this Diwali. The singer claims that the album is a unique blend of karaoke and bhajans. Her album has 50 popular songs, sung by various artistes. “This album allows you to sing traditional bhajans in the comfort of your own home. This is first time that the concept of karaoke has been incorporated in a devotional album,” says Jasraj.
