Asha Bhosle is gearing up to return to a stage that she last performed on 29 years ago. The singer has confirmed that she will return to IIT’s Mood Indigo festival this December. The last time the singer performed at this venue was in 1981, when she teamed up with RD Burman.
That memorable performance had seen Bhosle and Burman perform live duets, notably the hit song Piya tu ab toh aaja. However, the song list for her forthcoming performance is not known yet. She says on Twitter, “After almost 30 years I will be performing at IIT MOOD INDIGO POWAI on December 20, 2010. Rahul and I performed here last in 1981. Catch me if you can.”
Mood Indigo, a three-day extravaganza, is scheduled to take place between December 20 and 23. The festival is considered one of the country’s biggest in terms of its scale. Every year Mood Indigo’s line up is looked forward to. It continues to serve as a platform for young musicians. Besides Bhosle, other acts confirmed for the festival this year include Katatonia, a dark rock-metal band.
