Urban pop band Baycity Lights has changed their lead singer, the name of the band, and even the sound of their music. However, the Mumbai-based band, which is steadily gaining popularity, says that they are not into Bollywood. “Bollywood gets slightly commercial. Although if someone from Bollywood comes to us and asks us to compose music, we might give it a shot. We have worked with Shankar Ehsaan Loy before,” says Ryan Sadri the saxophone player of the band.

Ryan, along with the band performed in Delhi recently and says that the Delhi crowd is really reserved. “They (Delhi crowd) will come to you at the end of the show and tell you that it was a great show and that they loved it. And we are like, ‘Why didn’t you express it on the stage?’ I just think they are a bit reserved. We have played in United Kingdom and Indonesia before. They will dance freely without inhibitions and that’s nice to see,” he says. The band recently released the preview of the song Glued on the internet and they will also be releasing a video of the song pretty soon. The six-member-band claim that the city of Mumbai has been their inspiration and muse for a lot of their music.

About Baycity Lights
Baycity Lights were formerly known as Something Relevant. However, with a new singer (Rohan Mazumdar) and a new sound of Urban Pop, the band decided to change the name. Ryan Sadri says that the band gets its name from the lights around the bay in Mumbai.
