They struggled and climbed the showbiz ladder together — actors and buddies Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak have become so close over the years that even their kids are part of the same ecosystem. “We are very good friends in real life and that helps (professionally). We admire and love each other. Both our families are friends with each other,” said Pathak.
He adds, “We hang out together, do theatre together. Even if we are not working, we enjoy each other’s company.”
Their camaraderie seems to have rubbed off on their kids too, as Pathak’s two daughters adore Shorey and his actor-wife Konkona Sen Sharma’s son, Haroon.
“Haroon just started walking you know. He is both my daughter’s most favourite toy. The whole day they’ll play together, as we live in the same building,” Pathak said on the sidelines of the Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival of India, Asian and Arab Cinema, that concluded on Sunday. On the professional front, Pathak does not divulge any details on his new film — Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children, but says he is kicked about doing his first biopic, Gaur Hari Dastaan. “It’s the story of Gaur Hari-das, a freedom fighter from Orissa. It’s his true life story and I’m playing him,” said Pathak.
