While on his way to enjoy a Holi getaway with his close buddies, actor Navin Nischol, who died suddenly on Saturday morning, uttered what would be his last words.

The Dekh Bhai Dekh actor was on his way to Pune with producer Gurdeep Singh, "Can you lower the AC?", were his last before he said adieu to the world.

Rishi Kapoor who bumped into him just the night before his death, recalled the last few moments of his life, "I bumped into him after ages at the Otters Club on Friday night. I don't frequent Otters Club. So it all seems providential. The next morning he was supposed to drive with Gurdeep Singh (Gawa) and my brother Randhir Kapoor to Pune. Before they could reach Daboo's, Navin asked Gawa to lower the AC in the car. Then he just slumped and died", reports Mumbai Mirror.

He recalled fond memories of the actor, "I had directed Navin in Aa Ab Laut Chalein. A good-looking man and a good human being. He was cultured and a great conversationalist. Do you know Navin loved that insurance ad where the father holds his heart and passes out when he is told he has to pay a fee of 10 lakhs for his son? Navin used to say, 'That's the way to go.' Someone up there heard him. That's the way he went."

Still under shock after the loss, "He was my buddy more than my brother," said the actor's brother Praveen Nischol, reports Mumbai Mirror.

"Was it a premonition? For the first time, before he left the house to go to Pune, he said goodbye to all of us individually, our mother, my adopted son, even our brother who stays abroad. Usually, he'd just leave after announcing loudly that he's doing so," he added.
