From heavy traffic jams, insufficient sign boards and public toilets to mismanagement of the pavilions, this year’s edition of the annual Auto Expo in Delhi was in news for all the wrong reasons. While some blame the organisers, there are others who propose to shift the venue to NCR. We ask young Delhiites to share there opinion on the topic.
Debate of the week:
What’s the big issue of the week? If there’s a debate burning in the city, we’ll bring you both sides of the matter here. Your issues, your voice, your space...
Upasana Virmani, 23: Roads in NCR are as crowded as those in Delhi, so traffic-wise it won’t make any difference. However, Pragati Maidan is very spacious and is well-connected by Metro
Nidhi Bassi, 23: Being the capital of India, many foreign visitors and business delegates visit Delhi especially. Since it’s not easy to commute to NCR, shifting the venue there won’t be a wise decision
Adit Sharda, 23: I think a place like Gurgaon would surely be a better venue for Auto Expo, considering the fact that it’s got better connectivity than an already congested Lutyens’ Delhi. The Auto Expo was actually a pain this time
Vipin Handa, 19: I definitely think NCR makes for a better venue for the Auto Expo. Just imagine if an event as big as the F1 could be hosted in Greater Noida without any glitch, then why not this
Himanshu Mehta, 20: I think NCR, Noida in particular, will be a better venue for the Auto Expo. As it’s away from the hustle and bustle there won’t be much traffic and chaos like in Delhi
