Nicolas Cage has “lived like a sheik,” and has “spent money like it was water,” the Daily Beast has reported.
There have been reports that the actor is now suing his former money manager, Samuel Levin, for $20 million in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming he enriched himself while "sending Cage down a path toward financial ruin."
But the truth seems to be otherwise.
According to the Daily Beast, Cage seems to have invited financial ruin all of his own.
He has been engaged in the kind of dissipated spending habits over the years.
Here’s a sample of what all he owns with his big money: More than a dozen homes, including a castle in England, an 11th-century estate in Germany, and two entire Bahamian islands; an untold number of cars, new and classic; a huge collection of pets which is described as “basically a zoo”; a dinosaur skull; a collection of shrunken heads
Cage has donated $1 million to the Red Cross and $2 million to Amnesty International.
It is also reported that Cage once paid $500,000 for a Lamborghini from an auction, which was about $300,000 more than its value. “He didn’t care,” says a friend. “Nic at an auction is dangerous.”
In his pet collection, Cage owns two albino king cobras and keeps antivenom at hand.
