A day after Preity Zinta registered a case of molestation against former boyfriend and industrialist Ness Wadia, she has explained her reasons in an emotional Facebook post titled "From my heart".

The 39-year-old actor had alleged in her police complaint that Wadia not only outraged her modesty but also abused and threatened her during the Indian Premier League (IPL) qualifier for the final between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on May 30.

Preity and Ness ended their relationship in 2009 but are co-partners of IPL team Kings XI Punjab. Ness Wadia has denied the allegations. "I am shocked at the complaint and the allegations made against me are totally false and baseless," PTI quoted Wadia as saying in a statement.

The actor says in the blog that she may not be "super wealthy and powerful" but has truth on her side. She goes on to say that nobody stood by her when she was "abused and insulted publicly". She says she had to approach the police as the Wankhede "incident happened in front of way too many people".

In a reference to those who were aware of the incident but chose to stay quiet, she says, "Everyone always looks away as if they don't exist or then we don't exist. People are embarrassed just enough to look away, but not too embarrassed to intervene."

She says she has never said anything about Wadia in the past but now she is left with no choice. She goes on to request for privacy and that her dignity must be maintained. "Ironically what happened at Wankade (sic) is being diluted by every other fabricated story about my character except the truth of what happened… No woman likes to be involved in a controversy like this which makes her open and vulnerable for all to take a dig at."

She also expressed complete faith in the judicial process. "I'm sure the witnesses will speak the truth and i trust and believe that the police will do their job fairly and quickly."
