She is as spirited in real life as she came across in her debut film, Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), but that apart, actor Vaani Kapoor says that she’s ­completely different from her on-screen character, Tara, especially when it comes to romance.
So, even as rumour mills speculate about her link-ups, the 23-year-old giggles, ­confessing, “There’s no romance happening in my life... I am very choosy when it comes to guys... I mean I really don’t know who I will land up with ever... I just hope I get a good guy, else I might just end up settling down with cats.”
Cats? “Ya... like those ladies who adopt ­hundreds of cats and grow old with them,” she bursts out laughing.

Vaani’s laughter is indeed contagious, so the formal interview soon translates into a fun chat garnished with peals of laughter, even as the Aaha Kalyanam (The Tamil remake of the Anushka Sharma-Ranveer Singh starrer Band Baaja Baaraat) actor gets chatty about her childhood crushes.
“I was a huge fan of Arjun Rampal and Hrithik Roshan. And when I was tiny, I loved Akshay Kumar,” reveals Vaani, who’s also speculated to be chosen as Shah Rukh Khan’s leading lady in one of his forthcoming films.
“Oh I wish! Who wouldn’t like to be Shah Rukh Khan’s leading lady!” gushes Vaani.
A butter chicken fan
Once weighing 70 kg, Vaani admits that gymming is something she hated. “My sister would literally drag me to the gym and I would just go and sleep in one of the changing rooms,” she chuckles.
