She is as spirited in real life as she came across in her debut film, Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), but that apart, actor Vaani Kapoor says that she’s completely different from her on-screen character, Tara, especially when it comes to romance.
So, even as rumour mills speculate about her link-ups, the 23-year-old giggles, confessing, “There’s no romance happening in my life... I am very choosy when it comes to guys... I mean I really don’t know who I will land up with ever... I just hope I get a good guy, else I might just end up settling down with cats.”
Cats? “Ya... like those ladies who adopt hundreds of cats and grow old with them,” she bursts out laughing.
Crushes, film with SRK and more
Vaani’s laughter is indeed contagious, so the formal interview soon translates into a fun chat garnished with peals of laughter, even as the Aaha Kalyanam (The Tamil remake of the Anushka Sharma-Ranveer Singh starrer Band Baaja Baaraat) actor gets chatty about her childhood crushes.
“I was a huge fan of Arjun Rampal and Hrithik Roshan. And when I was tiny, I loved Akshay Kumar,” reveals Vaani, who’s also speculated to be chosen as Shah Rukh Khan’s leading lady in one of his forthcoming films.
“Oh I wish! Who wouldn’t like to be Shah Rukh Khan’s leading lady!” gushes Vaani.
A butter chicken fan
Once weighing 70 kg, Vaani admits that gymming is something she hated. “My sister would literally drag me to the gym and I would just go and sleep in one of the changing rooms,” she chuckles.
