Not even a film old and model-turned-actor Preeti Desai seems to have already learnt Bollywood’s tricks of the trade. The actor, who is set for an innings in Bollywood with Ekta Kapoor’s Shor in the City, took the diplomatic route of “no comments” for many questions.
On being asked about her topless shoot controversy or her relationship status with actor Abhay Deol, all that the Brit-born actor said was “No comments.” This, after she reportedly shifted to India to “rekindle” her love with the Deol boy, and was spotted with him recently at a party hosted by Ekta Kapoor.
However, on matters of film, Desai was more forthcoming. On being asked about her Shor in the City co-star Sendhil Ramamurthy, she says, “It was really nice working with Sendhil. We connected straight away.” Despite of a heavy accent, the former Miss Great Britain plays the character of a Mumbaikar, Sharmila, in the film. So, was it a tough to play the role? “Not at all. Sharmila is what I am in real life — a cheerful and fun loving person. As for my accent, I did work a lot on it,” quips Desai.
