It’s not easy capturing Bollywood’s biggest in flawless frames. Celebrity photographer Prasad Naik has worked long and hard in the field through ad film campaigns, magazine covers and much more. But he doesn’t credit the excellence of a photograph to his expertise; instead he feels it’s the actors’ attitudes that have helped him. Whether it was Aamir Khan’s cooperation to allow a picture of the actor with his back facing the camera or father-son Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan’s lack of inhibition to expose an upbeat chemistry for their first editorial cover together. Of the thousands of pictures he has clicked over the years, here are some that he feels, qualify, to be his best work so far.

‘You know this is Aamir Khan’
This image was shot for a magazine cover. I personally believe less is more. It’s not always necessary to show a celebrity’s face, simplicity always works. Aamir Khan was in his Ghajni avatar and everyone knew the look. His hairstyle had actually created a trend and therefore I chose to shoot his back, without showing his face. He was co-operative and fun to work with, and is extremely easy going and always up to try new things out.

Abhishek‘She is magical in front of the camera’

Deepika is magical in front of the camera. It is absolutely effortless to work with her. She is a great person and often comes up with great suggestions. She is very involved in the shoot, which makes things much easier for the photographer.

‘She looks sexy yet innocent in this picture’
This image of Bipasha Basu was shot for a film magazine’s cover. She is wearing a Narendra Kumar Ahmed creation, especially designed for this shoot. She looks distinct. Moving away from her usual hairstyle, she sported something very different… a short blunt cut. She looks sexy, yet innocent.

‘Kareena’s eyes emote beautifully’
This image too was shot for a film magazine cover. We wanted to do something different and simple. Anything you do with Kareena, looks great on camera. She has expressive eyes that emote beautifully, is versatile, easy going and fun to work with.

‘This was completely unexpected’
This was a fun shoot. For the first time, I was working with Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan together. I was trying to capture their chemistry. Though it would have been conventional to have Mr Bachchan in the foreground and Abhishek making funny faces in the background, this was completely unexpected.
