Her sister Asha Bhosle became a Twitter addict after joining the micro-blogging website a few weeks ago. Now, India’s music legend, Lata Mangeshkar, has followed suit.
Unlike Bhosle, who uses the platform to share trivia about her songs, the screen icons of the 1970s and ’80s, and her late husband, RD Burman, Mangeshkar has so far tweeted very sparingly, mostly replying to celebrities who’ve welcomed her to the website.
After greeting everyone on Twitter, Mangeshkar said, “With so much love and blessings pouring in on me all the time, I am here now to connect with my people who have made me what I am today.”
The singer also tweeted a short Wordsworth poem, dedicating it to her ‘friends, colleagues and well-wishers’. Mangeshkar’s mostly been interacting with contemporary singers like Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal so far.
