A tent that would perish naturally after the party fun is over and doesn't take a toll on your pocket, has now become a reality.

Vanessa Harden, a Canadian designer from the UK has been busy working on prototypes for a biodegradable tent that would be cheaper than the most affordable tents on the market, reports Discovery News.

Her project, called Future Tents encourages greener lifestyles.

One of her more recent prototypes is a foldable cardboard tent embedded with local seeds, coated in bees wax, covered in biodegrading cellophane and anchored with biodegradable potato-based pegs.

Party TentHarden has been working with origami specialist Mark Bolitho on the tent's form. Over the summer Harden tested a prototype in Scotland at the enormous annual music festival, T in the Park. During four days, the Scottish weather obliged with hard rain.

According to its website, T in the Park organizers are looking for a way to avoid trashing tents.

In the meantime, maybe that cardboard prototype got festival goers to think harder about shelter for next year.
