Girls in Delhi are way ahead of the boys when it comes to knowing about Barack Hussein Obama, the US President. The Obama Girls, if we could call them so, were far more in number and knew all about him. This popular man is landing in India on November 6 and Obama mania has already set in — there are wide speculations about the places where he might stay, the places he would visit, and the food he would eat.

Warm up to Obama
As a warm up to Obama's upcoming visit to India, The American Center and Hard Rock Café organised an interactive US presidential quiz competition for the students of Delhi University. Called Rock with the Presidents, “the quiz was intended to get people pumped up about Obama's visit to India,” said Lydia Barraza, assistant cultural affairs officer, Embassy of the United States of America, New Delhi. She also doubled up as the quiz master. The quiz had 10 rounds, with four questions each.

The organisers gave a list of websites to the participants to prepare for the quiz. But that was not enough for these Obama enthusiasts; they read up all they could about American presidential history. "We put in hours to prepare for such an opportunity," said Neha Gulati of Dyal Singh College.

Knowing US presidents
The quiz master asked varied questions, ranging from the name of the two presidents who were assassinated in office, to the president who won two Grammy Awards, among other such interesting trivia.
The participants were going all hush-hush one moment and exchanging energetic hi-five's in another, when they got their answers correct. Since the teams had a mix of mostly 2nd and 3rd year students from different graduate courses, "the event also turned out to be a great bonding activity," said Jyoti Phulera of Indraprastha College.

A special round called En'core Obama Mania required a representative from each team to answer. The competition also looked like a battle of the sexes, with all girls entering the semi final round and Shivani Sharma of Bharati College announced as the winner at last. With goodies to win and plenty of beverages and snacks to dig in, the participants had a great time. Indraprastha College won the competition, while Kamala Nehru College and St. Stephen's College were declared the 1st and the 2nd Runners up.
