Actor Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra has just turned writer with the book, How Not To Make Money. He says that when he started writing the book five years back, he never thought it would get published. But now, the 38-year-old can’t stop raving about his baby. “It is a beautiful story of three friends and their rise to riches a bit too fast for everyone’s liking. It’s not an autobiography, but yes, it does have some incidents and real-life experiences from my life. I have used a lot of my life experiences to write this book,” he says.
Kundra is not averse to the idea of adapting the book into a movie. “The book does have the makings of a fantastic Hollywood film. Let’s see after its release if anyone’s interested in acquiring its movie rights,” he says, adding that he has already planned his next book. “I’ve jotted down a bare skeleton idea for my next book.”
Shilpa was impressed when he told her about the book deal. “She always knew I was writing but I am sure never in her wildest dreams did she think it would get published. She is a very supportive wife and believes it’s important to live and let live.”
The couple’s one-year-old son Viaan has been spotted at a lot of public functions and Kundra says that the couple’s life now revolves around him. “Our work, our free time, our every second is planned keeping him in mind. He has added so much positive energy into our life. Every day is a new learning for him. He is an old man in a child’s body. He is a quick learner and very alert for his age.”
Bring up the IPL betting controversy earlier this year, and Kundra says, “The only lesson I learnt was don’t take people for face value. Shilpa and I are both so passionate about our team it was sad to be accused of fixing and betting with no facts to back such disgusting claims. We respect the laws of the land and are law abiding citizens. We were very disturbed with the happenings and are happy that truth finally prevailed and a clean chit was given.”
