Pick up the paintbrushes, bring out the colour palette and get ready to do a spot of wall-painting. And if you’re lucky, you might just get to decorate the walls of an entire store.
This is exactly how Yogurtbay, the frozen yoghurt store at Carter Road, plans to design its new outlet. Paint Up, a contest by the company, is inviting patrons to send in their entries for wall murals till November 8 and offers one lucky winner the chance to do up the walls of its new store, at a yet-to-be-disclosed location in the city.
The contest has already become a runaway hit with the people. In spite of being launched just two days ago on social networking sites, it has already received dozens of entries. “We operate on a community basis; be it deciding the flavour of the day or designing our new store, we like to keep our customers at the centre of it all,” says Robin Chatterjee, founder of Yogurtbay, who will be judging the entries along with co-founder Viral Jhaveri.
“The entries should reflect what Yogurtbay means to the common man. I’m just looking out for something with a young and quirky feel,” he reveals.
Previously decorated by a Turkish designer, the store, this time, has decided to hand over the baton to the customers themselves. “Those interested can send in their designs and we will personally contact the winner on the day of the store launch on November 11,” says Swati Sucharita, spokesperson for the event.
“The creatives we’ve received so far are simply mind-blowing. We’re quite overwhelmed with the response within a day of announcement, and we hope people send in more entries and get to showcase their creativity at our new store,” Viral chimes in.
