Producer filmmaker Prabodh Mukherji passes away

Noted film maker Prabodh Mukherji passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai following a cardiac arrest, family sources said.

He was 88.

Mukherji is survived by wife and two sons -Tapan and Basu, who are into distribution business.

The end came 2355 hrs last night at Nanavati Hospital where he was hospitalised for the last one week, his son Basu Mukherji told PTI.

Prabodh was younger brother of Sashdhar and Subodh Mukherji.

He produced several films like Shammi Kapoor starrer Junglee, April fool, Sharmili, Love Marriage, Shagird, Abhinetri, Ladke Baap se badke and Mr Romeo.

Prabodh was partner in the Subodh Mukherji Productions along with brother Subodh. He handled the finances while Subodh was the creative partner involved in producing, scripting, direction.

The funeral will take place at the Santacruz crematorium at 1130 hrs.
