Popularly known as the ‘rudest man on Indian television’, producer Raghu Ram is now set to make his singing debut. The host has recently finished recording the theme song of Roadies Season 9 along with the lead singer of Agnee, K Mohan. “It’s a duet between us in the actual recorded version, which marks Raghu’s singing debut,” says Mohan, who has composed the song Manmaani Re….

Though he has known Raghu for many years and was aware that the host could sing well, Mohan was still uncertain about how recording the track professionally would work out.

“Raghu has been one of my closest friends for a long time. He was with me all through my struggling days, when I was trying to form Agnee,” reminisces Mohan, before adding, “I remember him singing a lot of folk songs, but recording in a studio is a different ball game, which is why we were a little skeptical about whether he will be able to perform well or not. But he completed the entire process within an hour. It was a proud moment for me, and I can now vouch for the fact that he is a good singer. It doesn’t sound like a non-singer singing the track.”

The music video that features Raghu is set to go on air on March 3. Incidentally, Season 9 of the hit reality TV show will also feature a performance by Agnee on March 17.

This is being touted as the first time a band has been roped in for the show. “We performed in Jaipur, at the beginning of the Roadies’ first journey, where all the selected contestants meet for the first time on the show. Actually, we (Agnee) met the Roadies participants even before Raghu did,” says Mohan, adding that the ‘angry young host’ will not be seen jamming with them on the television show. “We went and performed on a version of the song where only I am singing.”
