Raima SenGranddaughter of the legendary actress Suchitra Sen and daughter of Moon Moon Sen, the demure, doe-eyed Raima Sen is a self-confessed foodie and fitness freak besides being an excessive talker who loves books and is as free-spirited as they make them. She made her debut with the film Godmother but got recognition with Chokher Bali. Besides the recently released A Japanese Wife, she will now be seen in Rituparno Ghosh’s Nauka Dubi along with her sister Riya, and another film titled Mirch.

What would you do if Superman paid you a visit?
Clip off his cape and hang it in my cupboard! Quiz him about his whole ‘underwear’ concept and make him my bed-time story-teller. I’m sure his adventures are worth it...

What is your idea of a highly boring evening?
When your TV, radio, laptop and Blackberry refuse to work and your car has gone in for servicing as well. I’m too dependent, technologically!

If you were stranded on a desert island and could keep five things with you, what would you choose?
Sunblock for sure, bikinis, flipflops, Blackberry and a book.

If you were an animal, which animal would you be and why?
I’d love to be a panther – agile, sexy and predatorial.

The turning point of your life?
Moving to Mumbai and setting up home in the proverbial city of dreams.

People talking when it’s not needed and being silent when they ought to say something!

If you could go back in time, which period of history would you go back to and why?
I’d love to go back to the Victorian era; I’m completely enamoured by their costumes – the corsets, the pleated skirts, the high necklines and the hair accessories. I would love to be wooed by a true gentleman (a Duke if I may say so) and travel to places in beautiful horse-drawn carriages.

Three places you love shopping in?
Bangkok, London and Delhi.

The wickedest prank you ever pulled on anyone?
Answered my sister’s phone for a whole day pretending to be her and just basically came up with such insane stories for every caller that the chaos unfolded into the next couple of days as well.

Your exercise routine?
A combination of Bikram yoga, weight training and cardio.

You’re sentimental about?
Old photographs, especially black and white ones, and certain fragrances.

One place you really want to visit and why?
I’d love to go to places like Tunisia, Croatia and Cuba – not super touristy but tons to explore.

One thing you love about your partner?
Find me a partner first and then I’ll spill the beans!

You have faith in?
The idea of faith itself – it is empowering, liberating and wonderful.
