If all things go well, the popular stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava will contest Lok Sabha polls from Allahabad on Congress ticket.
Though Raju has received offers both from Samjwadi and Congress party, he is considering the latter as the party's offer came first.
Speaking to PTI, Raju said, "Congress and Samajwadi Party have offered me to contest the Lok Sabha elections on their ticket. But as Congress' offer came first, I am considering it."
Raju, who hails from Kanpur, had recently been told by Maharashtra Congress chief Kripashankar Singh that his wish to contest from Allahabad will be conveyed to the party president Sonia Gandhi.
According to reports, Congress is also keen on roping in actor Ravi Kissen. Recently Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt had announced his candidature from Lucknow on SP ticket.
