After Amitabh Bachchan walked out of Ram Gopal Verma's Department as a reaction to Ramu's dig at his son Abhishek, the filmmaker apparently went to Bachchan's house to apologise.
The spat started with Ramu's uncharitable comments about Junior Bachchan's Dum Maaro Dum. "The recent reports about Ramu ruining the suspense of Dum Maaro Dum, which features Abhishek in the lead and his statements about replacing Abhishek with Rana Daggubati in his forthcoming film Department has not gone down too well with the Bachchans," a source told Mumbai Mirror.
But RGV dismissed all these reports and went to meet Bachchans at their place to explain his side of the story.
"Ramu has been insisting that he is yet to see Dum Maaro Dum and he was not the one who sent the text messages. Also, Rana's inclusion in the film had been purely due to date problems. However, Bachchans are far from convinced," the source said.
"Ramu, who has always shared a warm relationship with them and worked in numerous films, realised that he had to make amends. Although he did not feel that he was anywhere wrong, he decided to go and meet Amitabh and explain his side of the story," added the source.
If all goes well, Big B might get back in Department.
