Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey touched down in the city at 8.30 am on Monday morning, as part of her first trip to India. She then headed to her new digs at the Taj Mahal Palace And Towers, Colaba, where she was welcomed with a performance by a group of specially-abled boys from the Happy Home And School For The Blind.
“Since she’s a lover of music, we wanted to give her a special melodious welcome. The boys serenaded her with a song called Swagatham, and she was so touched by the performance that she asked for more information on the singers and their school to be sent to her. She even posed for pictures with them,” says a well-placed source.
