She might be better known for her nasal voice and whimsical lyrics, but teen sensation Rebecca Black has had it with the verbal bullying she was made to endure at school.
"When I walk by they'll start singing 'Friday' in a really nasally voice," Black said at an interview with ABC News. "Or, you know, they'll be like, 'Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?'"
So she quit.
Don't worry she won't grow up to be an illiterate popstar, though she would not be the first.
Black has opted to be homeschooled instead. And her mother Georgina Marquez is behind her all the way.
"She certainly did not need that kind of pressure," Marquez said at the interview.
The 14-year-old has not much of her inane confidence though.
"It's hard because everyone wants to say 'Oh my God, I'm this big star now,'" Black said. "But I don't see it that way. I'm still the same 14-year-old girl that loves to hang out with her friends."
Good for her!
