Be it her role as the bimbette Mini in Race or the naxalite Lakshmi in Red Alert The War Within, actress Sameera Reddy always manages to make heads turn.

But, she insists that her de-glam role for the latter isn’t as big a deal as it is being made out to be. “To begin with, it wasn’t a conscious decision to shed any image. Though people may think glamourous roles are easy, trust me — they are not. Who says playing a dumb bimbo in Race was an easy task?” she says.

Sameera ReddyWhy me?

One of the several celebs addicted to the Twitterverse, Reddy seems to be enjoying her stint with the micro-blogging site, barring one problem, "They have not verified me yet. There are so many celebrities, such as Dia Mirza, who have fewer followers than I do, but they are verified. I don’t understand why they are not verifying me?"

Meanwhile, the actress has been working hard to get back in shape. “I lost eight kgs and I quite like it this way. Though to be honest, I don’t believe in being a bag of bones.”

Talking about her future projects, Reddy says, “My next release is Nagesh Kukunoor’s Yeh Hausla, in which I play a fiery Rajasthani woman.” Even though she doesn’t disclose whether she’s a part of Race 2 yet, what she is keen on doing, is playing a double role: “I’d love to play a double role in a film... something like Khoon Bhari Maang,” she adds.

Ask her if she sees herself on the director’s chair some day and she replies, “I have thought about it, but every time the answer is a ‘no’. I don’t think I will be on the director’s seat."
