Oscar winning actor Reese Witherspoon has been chosen for the MTV Generation Award. The 35-year-old actor, whose career in Hollywood boomed with the film, Legally Blonde, will receive the award at the MTV Movie Awards, quoted Femalefirst. To be hosted by comedian Jason Sudeikis, the awards ceremony takes place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. “Witherspoon is one of the most versatile and accomplished performers of her time,” said Stephen Friedman, president, MTV.
Witherspoon, who made her mark as a leading lady with The Man in The Moon in Hollywood, got noticed with the Legally series and also starred in period dramas such as Vanity Fair and Johnny Cash biopic, Walk The Line, for which she earned a Best Actor Academy Award. The Water For Elephants star was married to actor Ryan Phillippe for nine years before separating from him in 2003. She is currently married to Hollywood agent Jim Toth.
