Tamil star Dhanush's song Kolaveri Di has become a sleeper blockbuster by crossing 10,559,994 hits since its release November 16 on YouTube.

Composed by 18-year-old Anirudh Ravichander, the song with funny lyrics is sung in an unconventional manner by Dhanush himself and it will be a part
of his next film 3, which is being directed by his wife Aishwarya. The film also stars Shruthi Haasan.
Seldom has any song created such a craze - from children to youngsters to celebrities, everyone is hoooked on to the song.
Amitabh Bachchan is going gaga over the foot-tapping music and says he just can't get enough of the song sung by Tamil star Dhanush for his film 3, which is being directed by his wife Aishwarya, the daughter of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. The song has been composed by 18-year-old Anirudh Ravichander.
"'Why this Kolaveri Kolaveri Kolaveri Di .. Ahh...just not leaving the lips and the mind and the system...such an endearing experience. Brings a smile and laughter and rhythm instantly to the face... get to YouTube, type Dhanush and Kolaveri Di... its his latest song that has become a rage all over," Amitabh posted on his blog Bigb.bigadda.com.

The Bollywood megastar is so impressed by the song that he even posted a few lines praising the song on his Twitter.

What does Kolaveri mean
Kolaveri, a highly popular slang among Tamil youth, normally used to silence a cranky person in a group. It is among several Tamil words which youngsters use between themselves without implying actual meaning.
Kolaveri, which means murderous rage, is now popular even in other parts of the country, thanks to the peppy song Why This Kolaveri Di? The slang has been used by the makers of 3 to depict the anguish of a person who has just tasted rejection from the hands of a girl whom he liked.
