After conceiving the idea of India’s first dance 3D film ABCD (Any Body Can Dance), director Remo D’Souza has yet another feather to add to his cap. Apparently, the moves master has been approached to compile a book on the history of Indian dance. Confirming the news, Remo says, “Yes, it is true. I will begin working on the book as soon as ABCD releases.”
The director has also included about 50 dance forms in the film that stars Prabhudheva in the lead. “This project is very close to my heart. As a dancer, I have always wanted to make a film that revolves around the performing art, and now with ABCD, I am making India's first 3D dance film. Everything just fell in place somehow,” says Remo. He further adds, “ In the film I have used many forms of dances and I will talk about each one of them in the book as well.” The book will be released sometime during Diwali this year.
Apart from Prabhudheva, ABCD also features choreographer Ganesh Acharya and actor Kay Kay Menon in pivotal roles along with Dance India Dance contestants Dharmesh Yelande, Noorin Sha and Rahul Shetty.
The film, which is set to hit theatres on February 8, also features Lauren Gottlieb of American reality show So You Think You Can Dance fame.
