The actor turns 33 today. And while Bipasha Basu will bring in her birthday with family and friends, she has a wish list ready for this year. She wants to work with two of Bollywood’s Khans and current rivals, Shah Rukh and Salman.
Interestingly, Salman, a few months back, had personally invited Bipasha for his film Bodyguard’s (2011) premiere. And since then, the buzz has been strong that she has become very friendly with Sallu. Bipasha says, “Yes, I want one film each with Shah Rukh and Salman this year, besides success for all my films.”
On the personal front though, Bips has hired a screen at PVR Juhu today exclusively for friends and family to watch her latest film, Players. “I have invited all my friends and family members,” says Bipasha, adding that she hasn’t invited her industry pals for the screening. “It’s not a social screening for me at all.”
The Race (2008) actor adds that as a child, her mother used to take her out for movies. “So, in a way, I am reliving a similar experience, the only difference being that the film is mine,” she says. Bipasha has also demanded that her friends arrange a surprise birthday party for her. “If they don’t do it, I will kill them,” she says.
But party or not, what Bips is assured of is a lot of food. “I am a greedy pig on my birthdays,” she laughs. “It’s the only day in the entire year that I eat rice. So, my whole day will revolve around food.” Not surprisingly then, her menu includes Hyderabadi biryani cooked by her mother for breakfast, gajar ka halwa, prawn curry and rice for lunch, and kheer and fried rice for dinner.
“Everything has to be rice-based,” she says, adding it’s a unique birthday for her. “What’s most special is that directors Abbas- Mustan got me into the business. And the fact that Players released a day prior to my birthday is exciting,” she says.
