Choreographers: Karan Johar and Shiamak Davar. Musicians: Shankar-Ehsan-Loy. Singer: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's nephew Rahat. Interior designers: Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
The big wedding in the Bachchan household takes off on Wednesday with a sangeet ceremony that will, predictably, have all the trappings of a Bollywood movie.
Film director Johar will turn choreographer for the evening for the sake of Amitabh, Jaya and groom Abhishek. From the bride-to-be Aishwarya's side, it is going to be Davar.
The latest star-invitee names to emerge from sources close to the Bachchan family are Sachin Tendulkar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali — whom Aishwarya has invited. She has also asked film-maker Rituparno Ghosh to attend the function.
The venue for the sangeet ceremony —where Rahat will sing — and the April 20 wedding is Prateeksha while the mehndi rasam will be performed at Jalsa, another Bachchan property in Mumbai.
Apart from the interiors at the bungalows, Jani and Khosla have also designed the wedding attires for the Bachchans and their close relatives and friends.
To screen out gatecrashers during the three-day function, the invitees have been given security cards. The marriage will be solemnised in accordance with Vedic rites at 5.30 pm at Prateeksha.
Actresses Esha Deol and Preity Zinta have reportedly failed to make it to the final list of invitees.
