Sachin Tendulkar watched the critically acclaimed Marathi movie Natrang starring National-award winning actor Atul Kulkarni. A special screening was organised at a multiplex in Bandra, where Tendulkar watched the film with wife Anjali and friend Ajit Ranade.
He was accompanied by directors Indra Kumar, Rakesh Mehra, Nishikant Kamat, Ravi Jadhav and lead actor Atul Kulkarni. Tendulkar was in awe of Kulkarni’s performance. “Off and on, I watch many Marathi movies. This is a fabulous piece of work in the recent times,” said Tendulkar.
Kulkarni said, “Sachin had expressed his desire to watch the movie when we met recently for the screening of Peepli Live. He appreciated it a lot, discussed it meticulously and asked several questions about my character.”
“Sachin has made us proud and happy through his work over two decades now...And it is nice that we could reciprocate it in our own way...Its a great feeling,” he added.
Natrang is the story of a farm worker, also an amateur wrestler who dreams of playing the king in folk Marathi theatre.
