Salman Khan's paintings, which were up for sale at an art gallery in Dubai, have managed to raise a whopping 2.5 crore for his Being Human foundation.
"Salman's sister Arpita organised the exhibition. She has been taking keen interest in Being Human. It was a by invitation only function, attended by members of the royal family of Dubai (whom Salman is very close to)," a source was quoted by daily as saying.
Nine of Salman's paintings were reported to be sold on the spot. There are bids for 15 more of the actor's work. Each of the actor's paintings has a different theme. Through his art, Salman has been trying to say that all religions are equal. "For the last two years, he has been giving whatever he earns to the foundation, but in recent times it hasn't been enough," the source added.
The actor will also walk the ramp at the Couture Week on October 13 to create awareness for his foundation.
Being Human is a non-profit organisation for the underprivileged, started by Salman Khan. It raises funds by selling T-shirts, watches and other accessories along with the actor's paintings. Last month, he had launched gold and silver coins, proceeds from the sales of which would be donated to the foundation.
