Remember Hazel Keech? A few days ago reports touted the British actor, who features in Bodyguard with Salman Khan, as his new ‘friend’. But Salman’s brother-in-law and producer of the film, Atul Agnihotri isn’t amused.
"Salman isn’t playing godfather to Hazel. All the reports about her and Salman are completely misleading. I don’t know where this rumour has come from. The media got its hands on a few fan pictures from Pune and they conceived certain things. He is too busy with his projects," says Atul, whose production also stars Kareena Kapoor. But reports continue to suggest that Salman loves spending time with her and has been giving the young actor tips on how to manage her career. Apparently, the actors have been shooting for the film in Pune, and that’s where the sparks began to fly.
Atul, meanwhile, insists otherwise. "She has a small role and doesn’t even have solo scenes with Salman. She is part of a girls’ group as one of Kareena’s friends," says the producer, adding that the Dabangg actor didn’t even have "anything to do with her selection for Bodyguard."
For the uninitiated, Hazel was actually christened Rose Dawn. Born in Essex to an English father and an Indian mother, the 24-year-old has been trained in Bharatanatyam and Bollywood dance. She has also worked as an extra in some of the Harry Potter films. At 18, while holidaying in Mumbai, she started receiving offers for work. Since then, Hazel has acted in the Tamil film, Billa (2007) apart from doing several other TV commercials. Interestingly, Sallu’s former girlfriend Katrina Kaif is also from UK. And Hazel, like Katrina, is currently taking Hindi diction classes from Vidur Chaturvedi for Atul’s Bollywood remake of the Malayalam super hit Bodyguard.
