The 2014 Forbes India Celebrity 100 is out and has a new winner.
For the first time in its three-year run, two-time topper, Shah Rukh Khan was toppled from the top slot by 'friend' and fellow Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Shah Rukh was displaced from top slot as he did not have a movie in the relevant period. Meanwhile, Salman has topped the charts both in revenues and fame – a first for Forbes India celebrity list.
Also, Amitabh Bachchan’s celebrity factor was enhanced by his 12 million Twitter followers. Shah Rukh Khan’s undiminished brand value raked in Rs 202 crore, but he trailed at No 7 for fame. Dhoni, Kohli and Tendulkar are the only non-Bollywood personalities in the top 10. Preity Zinta, in the limelight for her spat with former boyfriend Ness Wadia, was a surprise at No 14, despite her relatively insignificant earnings.
