After agreeing to do Bigg Boss 5 due to the presence of ‘younger brother’ Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, once again, is doing his bit as a friend for producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

The Munnabhai actor recently stepped in to help Sharman Joshi, who stars in Chopra’s upcoming film Ferrari Ki Sawaari, and assigned himself the responsibility of teaching his fellow actor how to drive a Ferrari perfectly, asking the makers to forego the idea of getting a professional instructor.

“I know how to drive, but it is about getting used to a new system and the automatic mode, so Sanjay gave me a few sessions,” says Sharman, who has now been given unlimited 24X7 access to Sanjay’s Ferrari 599 GTB. His limited edition version apparently costs around Rs 5.5 crore.

“Sharman was a good student and after noticing his interest in the vehicle, Sanjay gave him an open invitation to use it whenever he wants, at any time of the day,” adds a source.

When asked whether it was terrifying to be ‘practising’ on a car that costs that much, Sharman says, “I was assured by Vinod sir and Sanjay that it was okay to take chances, so both of them kept asking me not to worry.”

He expresses his gratitude at Sanjay’s generous offer, saying, “He’s a senior actor and I’m grateful for his gesture to take time and lend his car to me whenever I need it.” This will be Sharman’s first film as the lead actor.

He now has until the end of the month to learn how to drive the sports car perfectly, as the next shooting schedule expected to begin in November. “Mumbaikars will soon see Sharman in the Ferrari, zooming around the city streets. We have completed about 60 per cent of the shoot so far,” says director Rajesh Mapuskar. The film, which is expected to release in April 2012, also stars actor Boman Irani.
