Hollywood star Sean Penn says that his ex-wife Robin Wright Penn is merely a "ghost" to him now as he has completely lost touch with her since their divorce.
The Academy Award winning actor was married to Wright for 13 years, but he says that they are complete strangers now, reported Contactmusic.
"She is a ghost to me now. We spent all those years together... Now she's just gone," Penn said.
The Milk star hasn't kept in touch with his former spouse who he started dating in 1989 and divorced last year citing "irreconcilable differences".
The 49-year-old actor who has two children, daughter Dylan, 19, and 16-year-old son Hopper, with his ex-wife said that his life as a single man has allowed him to dedicate more time to humanitarian work.
"I was for 20 years in a relationship with Robin and 18 years with children. I didn't have time to commit to anything for real in places like Iraq, except to denounce the war. But now I'm single. I can lend a hand," he said.
Penn has spent a lot of time in Caribbean nation Haiti following the two devastating earthquakes the area suffered earlier this year.
