B-town actors are venturing out, and they all mean serious business.

Salman Khan new range of clothing was launched in Dubai in June and will be available in the city’s Being Human stores this month. All fashion labels are about looking good, but Being Human is also about doing good. You can do that by slipping into a T-shirt or jeans, says the actor.

He plans to follow the clothing line with an eatery, in Bandra, later in the year. “The Being Human restaurant will be a cool place for everyone, particularly the younger lot. There are plenty of eateries in the city, so our food and drinks will have to be unique,” he says.

The actor’s arch rival, Shah Rukh Khan, elated with the victory of his team, Kolkata Knight Riders this year, is rumoured to be interested in buying a stake in a prestigious football club. He is away in London and didn’t wish to comment on the big deal.

Singer Asha Bhosle owns restaurants in Dubai and London, and is currently looking for space in Mumbai. “It’s difficult to locate a spot in the city for my restaurant,” says Asha, who is particular about the secret masalas and recipes she uses for her dishes. “I have always enjoyed cooking at home and watching my children eat with great pleasure. The restaurants are an extension of myself,” she says.

Actor Arjun Rampal, like Asha, is looking for a roof-top space in Mumbai to open his second nightspot, after Delhi’s LAP. “The ambience has to be different from my Delhi place. My wife Mehr and I want a space with a beautiful view of the city where people can listen to some good music and relish food with our beautiful skyline in the backdrop,” says the actor, whose company Chasing Ganesha also organises events and parties.
