Shahid turns 'politically correct'!
He may have delivered a double dose in Kaminey, but Shahid Kapoor is content playing second fiddle to Rani Mukherji in Dil Bole Hadippa! “Not every film would be a Kaminey for me.
I think the film is being promoted for what it is. I am just five-years-old in the industry, so I’m welcoming all sorts of offers that come my way,” he says, adding, “I have a significant part to play and I have lived up to it.”
Ask him about his reaction to actor Salman Khan calling him a politically correct person after he went to Khan’s show, Dus Ka Dum and pat comes the reply, “I don’t try to be politically correct, but if I have bagged such a title, it just means that whatever I say happens to be correct and I can’t do anything about it. I don’t think one should necessarily make statements that brew controversies.”
The actor is also grateful to Kareena Kapoor for appreciating his film Kaminey. “It is very kind of her to say that she liked Kaminey and I am glad that she did.” So is he a fan of any the films that she did after Jab We Met? He answers, “I have not seen any of her films after that, but I am looking forward to 3 Idiots.”
And has he finally figured out the key to dealing with recurrent news of link-ups with co-actresses? “I have learnt to start taking it with a pinch of salt because it will start affecting my work and my personal equations with people if I take it seriously,” he says, and jokingly adds, “Rani keeps fighting with me saying, ‘Yaar hum logon ki koi link-up story media mein kyun nahi aayi? Hum mein kya kami hai?’
