India’s best known beauty czarina Shahnaz Husain has a date with US President Barack Hussein Obama. “I was not expecting it,” says Shahnaz, referring to the invitation to attend the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington D.C. on April 26 and 27.
Presided by Obama, the Summit aims to bridge ties between the US and Muslim communities around the world. Asked what gift would she take for Obama, Husain says, “I’ll be carrying 3,000 years of Indian’s ancient Ayurvedic tradition in a jar.”
Any beauty tips for first lady Michelle Obama? “Oh, she is so well-groomed, so poised, so confident, so charismatic,” gushed Husain. But Husain has something to say to the world’s most powerful man about his looks. “I’ll tell him that I can keep you looking as good as you naturally are with the help of India’s mystique of miraculous plant power.”
On a more serious note, Husain says that she will tell Obama, “India stands for peace and non-violence and I request from you further efforts to promote peace and disarmament for which you have already received the Nobel Prize.”
While in the US, Husain will also be delivering a lecture at Harvard on “How to create an international brand without a publicity budget.”
