It’s been over three days since actress Shilpa Shetty joined the microblogging site Twitter, but she has yet to make her mark. Unlike superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who notched up thousands of followers, including actors Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra and filmmaker Karan Johar within a day, Shetty had only 3,913 followers at the time of going to press. Of these, the sole celebrity was Johar.
Shetty’s first post on Twitter, uplinked on February 26, reads, “Hello Hello I am the newest inclusion to twitterdom! In London now… IPL Jitters kicking in. Launched the new mascot ‘Moochu Singh’ too cute!! (sic).”
Excited about her new venture, Shetty wrote about Twitter on her official website, too: “I must apologise to all my fans for not being a regular blogger and have decided to join the Twitter world along with my continued blogging. Where I will promise to tweet my thoughts or experiences of the day everyday and blog in detail where possible. So feel free to check me out.”
Welcoming her to the site, Johar wrote, “Ok... @ theshilpashetty in the house and joins the family... give her love!” However, Shetty’s colleagues from the Indian Premiere League, Lalit Modi, Preity Zinta, SRK and Shane Warne, who are all on Twitter, have yet to note her presence.
Interestingly, the 34-year-old actress is not following anyone on the site.
