Day eight of the ongoing 64th Cannes International Film Festival, saw some shocking remarks in the garb of jokes amidst the regular delightful appearances.
The centre of attraction was Dutch director Lars Von Trier’s latest flick Melancholia, about the end of the world paralleled with the emancipation from one’s own depression. The calm scene just changed into a restless topic of discussion when the director confessed of being a Nazi. If that wasn’t it, Trier joked his next would be a hardcore porno.
The other highlight of the day, was Hanezu No Tsuki by Japanese filmmaker Naomi Kawase. The film is about a young man’s relationship with his pregnant wife.
