It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for 100 readers of Hindustan Times, who came from every nook and cranny of the city to meet and greet their favourite cine idol, Shah Rukh Khan. The 45-year-old star arrived fashionably late at the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon on Thursday afternoon. But that didn’t dampen the spirits of the teeming fans who chanted Shah Rukh! Shah Rukh! as soon as he arrived.
Looking dapper in a black tee, jeans and aviators, Shah Rukh walked right into the waiting crowd and began hugging his fans. The actor posed for photographs with children, who called him their idol and screaming female fans who swore undying love for him.
Some young girls even proposed to Shah Rukh then and there, and the actor, true to his wit, promised them a union in the next life.
Humbled by the experience, Shah Rukh said, My fans and their love is what keeps me going... this felt great. The actor spent some time talking to them about his upcoming film, RA.One, and signed countless autographs with his trademark smile.
